Cold weather, low humidity, exposure to sun or harmful chemicals, excessive hand washing, cold weather or too much usage of soap bars make the hand rough and dry. The cleaning products of today can make your hands look rough, wrinkly and discoloured as well.
But you don’t need to worry if your hands have become rough, you can use these home remedies to make your hands soft once again!
Aloe vera is a natural moisturiser that aids the retention of moisture on rough and dry skin. It improves the skin tone and forms a protective layer on the skin as well. All you need to do is cut open a fresh aloe-vera leaf and apply the gel like substance on your hands. Massage gently for a few minutes. With lukewarm water, wash it off after 10-15 minutes. Repeat once or twice daily.
Milk cream contains fat content in high amount that is ideal moisturiser for rough and dry hands. The lactic acid in milk creams boosts dry skin exfoliation and balances the pH levels of the skin. Rub some fresh milk cream gently on your hands and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Rinse off your hands with lukewarm water. Or take 2 tablespoons of gram flour and mix with two teaspoons of milk cream. Make a paste and apply to your hands. Leave this paste on your hands for 15 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water. Repeat this 2-3 times a week.
Coconut oil has amazing nurturing properties. It contains a great combo of fatty acids which are particularly good for dry skin and hands. Coconut oil soothes the damaged skin due to the exposure to UV sunlight rays. Use warmed extra-virgin coconut oil on your hands and massage for 5 minutes in circular motion. Do this remedy before sleeping and wear gloves. Repeat this daily.
Jojoba, almond, avocado oil can also be used to massage your hands.
Olive oil has been used since ancient times for its healing, beautifying, pain-relieving and healthy properties. Olive oil contains healthy fatty acids and antioxidants that keep your hands and skin soft and moisturised. Olive oil contains anti-aging skin advantages as well.
Take some warm olive oil and massage your hands for about 5-10 minutes. Repeat this procedure at least twice a day to have soft and supple hands. Another remedy requires mixing equal amount of fine sugar and olive oil. This homemade scrub brings out wonderful results. Rub this scrub on your hands and rub it in circular motions for few minutes.
Let it sit for 5 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water. Pat dry your hands and use a light moisturiser. Using this easy and effective remedy at least twice a week and see amazing softening results.
